Susan Rumor
Susan Rumor has been a coach for over 20 years, teaching voice, dialects, acting and singing. In 2006, Susan joined the teaching staff at the Aaron Speiser Acting Studio, where she was personally trained and mentored by Aaron Speiser. Her passion for acting and her creative, artistic insight is the driving force in all of Susan’s work with students and clients. Here at the Studio, Susan teaches Acting Technique, Advanced and Intermediate Scene Study, Voice and Dialect, and the Teen Acting Class.
Susan’s voice and dialect clients include Academy Award Best Actress Marion Cotillard, David Wenham and Jason Clarke. Her acting clients include Jason Dolly from Disney’s “Cory In The House,” Sarai Givaty and Paris and Prince Jackson. As a coach, she has worked with legendary directors and writers, Michael Mann, David Milch, Peter Bogdonovich, and for Paramount Pictures, MTV, and Spelling Entertainment.
Susan was 10 years old when she began acting and singing. She went on to receive her theater and music education at DePaul University in Chicago, and also sang the national anthem for the Chicago White Sox in a nationally televised game. In her professional acting career, Susan has been featured in the film “Bugsy” starring Warren Beatty, movies for Showtime, and the TV shows, Beverly Hills 90210 and Full House. She earned a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology/Voice Therapy and has been a guest lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, and at Los Angeles City College.
As a singing coach, her clients include Universal Music, Hollywood Records, EMI Records, No Name Worldwide /Electra Records, Eddie Van Halen, Courtney Love, Linda Perry (producer for Christina Aguilera), Erika Christensen, Virginia Madsen, Samantha Mathis, Drake Bell (“Drake and Josh”), 10 Years, and Frank Black of The Pixies.
